Abstract painter Patti Paris-Owens loves nature, from planting flower gardens and tending to landscaping to simply spending time outdoors.

 

The beauty in nature inspires the self-described “free spirit” in many ways, as evidenced by her original artwork juried as Indiana Artisan.

Jury members described her abstract paintings as “very contemplative and restful,” “so calming,” and created with “wonderful colors!”

 

The Indiana State University graduate with a degree in clothing, textiles and marketing dabbled in quite a few areas before committing herself to creating artwork on a full-time basis.

 

She first worked in retail sales and management for many years at Laura Ashley Design and Wild Birds Unlimited, and later ventured into real estate investing, homebuilding and remodeling. A native of Franklin, Indiana, Patti has worked and lived in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

Today, Patti lives in Bargersville, IN where she’s been successfully self-employed for over 30 years, providing clients, designers and builders with upscale, artistic wall finishes and custom art works for numerous show homes, commercial establishments and beautiful residences.

​

“These professional experiences, my free spirit, and my creative edge soon drove me into contemporary fine art forms, firmly planted on the painted canvas,” Patti says.

​

One of her abstract art pieces was selected as the Artist Series Wine Label for a limited artisan vintage made by Mallow Run Winery in Bargersville, and she’s also won awards at the Midwest National Abstract Art Exhibition and at a regional event sponsored by the Greenwood Arts Council.

​

Patti has exhibited her art successfully at fine art shows in the Midwest, from Kentucky to Michigan, from Illinois to Ohio, as well as shows in the South, from Tennessee to Alabama, Georgia and Florida, and more recently in the Eastern Seaboard from Virginia to Connecticut.
